WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER LAWYERS IN TYLER/SMITH COUNTY?

The best way for me to tell you what sets us apart from other lawyers is to tell you specifics about us. I was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. My father was a lawyer in Tyler for over 40 years.

  • I have been practicing law for almost 30 years.
  • I have been Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1998.
  • I was an insurance defense trial lawyer for almost 20 years. I have tried over 100 jury trials for a verdict.
  • I have lectured at conferences for trial lawyers
  •  I have lectured at the Texas State Bar on medical injuries often caused by car accidents.

My Qualifications.

Qualifications tell you what a person is capable of. They don’t tell you where my heart is, whether I am competitive, or whether I even care about you and your case. I think that is where I set myself apart from lawyers in this area. It certainly helps to be qualified and have a good understanding of these types of cases. I think it is caring about people that make me successful. It is hard to fake you care about somebody’s case. I believe you can usually tell a lot about an individual that leads an organization by the way his office/team interacts with the general public. That is one of my greatest strengths and my proudest achievements.

My office, from the receptionist to the paralegal, understands what the standard is at the office of J. Chad Parker. Everyone is treated as if their case is important because we know it is to them. I understand people don’t understand the process and often have never participated in hiring a lawyer like this or filing a lawsuit. 

My Staff Sets Us Apart.

My staff is well versed in communicating with people about the things that they should expect. 

Many of my staff have been with me between 10 – 20 years and so there is a level of chemistry in the office and continuity with clients that are not often found at law offices. My office helps with property damage when very few do. I usually don’t charge a fee for that help but do it because insurance companies are becoming increasingly unfair to deal with. We need your vehicle repaired or replaced as quickly as possible to begin getting back to normal. Sometimes that takes much longer due to the injuries sustained in a car wreck.

I think the intelligence level of my employees and their commitment to caring about people is what sets us apart. My employees understand their job. They communicate and solve problems for you along the way. There is a lot of inner office communication which allows me to be aware of things related to your case that I might need to know sooner rather than later.

My Relationships Sets Us Apart.

 Good relationships with local healthcare providers make it much easier for my clients to see the doctors and specialists that they may need in order to make a full recovery. My reputation benefits my clients with the ability to treat them under what is called a Letter of Protection. These healthcare providers will see and treat you because they trust me to pay them back from the ultimate settlement. That is not the case with all lawyers and it is certainly a great advantage.

Insurance companies know there are differences between the lawyers. There is a difference between those that are Board Certified. I have tried a lot of jury trials and those that have not. You can imagine how that benefits you as a client when offers of settlement are made or if the case reaches a point where a decision needs to be made as to whether we file suit.

Sometimes the lawsuit has to be filed because the insurance companies don’t believe that some lawyers will file. I have seen settlement values go up substantially simply after filing a suit. Also, during litigation, there will be opportunities to resolve your case at what is called a Mediation. Insurance companies know that Mediation might be their last chance to get the case resolved. Often I see the best settlement offer in a case at this point. Sometimes you have to go through the motions to be treated fairly. I think what sets me apart is that I can honestly tell you at what stage I think we should resolve the case. I am just like all of you in the sense that I would want to know what I would do if it was my case.
